Dental Restorations from Our Fairfield Dental Practice
Good oral health is important, not only for your overall wellbeing but your beautiful smile. That's why Solano Dental Group is here for you.
Damaged or missing teeth can be a big problem for your quality of life. Nobody should have to live with tooth pain. Fortunately, dentistry has come a long way in our ability to restore these smiles to their original aesthetic and function.
Dental restorations come in many different forms, from simple fillings to permanent implants. We have the most state-of-the-art equipment at our office, and with 18 years of dentistry under our belts, we have the experience and expertise to meet your individual needs.
Fillings & Crowns
For us, the most important thing is retaining and fortifying your natural teeth, and we’ll do whatever we can to save one from needing replacement.
Usually, this means fillings for any teeth with cavities. This involves removing the decayed area of the tooth, cleaning it, and filling it in with biocompatible composite resin. At Solano Dental Group, we make a point to never use amalgam fillings, as they are mixed with mercury.
If the tooth cannot be saved with a filling, we look at our other options. A crown is usually the next possibility we consider. Using our CEREC technology we can make a digital impression of your jaw and teeth, create, and affix a crown all in one day!
Veneers are thin shells of porcelain made to match the shape, color, and resilience of your natural tooth. At our practice, we fabricate custom-designed veneers after determining the proper color and contour. We then place it over your natural tooth or teeth, using a cement adhesive to bond it to your enamel.
This procedure generally requires no anesthetic and can be completed in just one or two visits. We recommend scheduling a follow-up visit to check on comfort and functionality.
Bridges & Dentures
In cases of multiple missing teeth, you may want to look into the possibility of more definitive restoration methods.
Bridges consist of one or more replacement teeth anchored by two crowns on the end. These are aesthetically identical to natural teeth. This process involves moderate preparation of the surrounding teeth to accommodate the abutment crowns.
Dentures restore similar aesthetics and function, but must sometimes be stabilized with metal clasps or adhesives. These may be visible while talking and tend to move around a bit while eating, which some patients find uncomfortable.
Without the tooth and root system, the jawbone undergoes resorption. This is the process by which the jaw loses bone density. Not only can this lead to teeth shifting out of place, but also give your face a sunken, aged look.
The procedure involves placing a titanium post directly in the jawbone, where it bonds by a process known as osseointegration. A crown is then affixed to this post, made to look and feel just like your original tooth. When it's all said and done, you'll have the full strength of your bite back, as well as the confidence of a complete smile.
